The Disciples asked for a table from Heavens as if everything they were eating was not from Heavens. But Man is "ظَلُومًا جَهُولًا - unjust and ignorant" (33:72). Through the funny example of "My Cats", Mawlana shows how man can learn, if he wants, even from a cat. A cat exists through the love of its owner, and knows its priorities and does not waste its time.

Mi‘rāj

It is Laylatu l-Mi‘rāj and Mawlānā is calling us to reach to our endless honour. We've been honoured by being human and, even more, by being Muslim and from the Ummatu l-Ḥabīb ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ is the Imām of the Prophets and the Imām of the Angels. There is no limit to the dresses of honour granted to him ﷺ and to his Ummah. O lover of Shāh-i Mardān, the Lion of Allāh ﷻ, become the lion you are meant to be. Why are Muslims killing each other? Because they did not keep the honour of their Prophet ﷺ or the honour of being part of his Ummah.

"And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me" (51:56). Liya'buduni (to worship) Me means liya'rifuni (to know Me). Yet the Divine Essence is absolutely transcendent. How can the knowledge of Allah be the reason and purpose of our creation when the Divine Essence cannot be approached? "Who Knows Himself Knows His Lord" is the door and its key is "Prostrate and draw near [to Allah]" (96:19).

O Man know who you are, and remember what you were given and what is promised to you in order to know which way to go.

Be with Allah

The Easy Life

"يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ بِكُمُ الْيُسْرَ وَلَا يُرِيدُ بِكُمُ الْعُسْرَ - Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship."(2:185)"The Easy Life" is good life. Allah sent Shari'ah to guide people to easy, good ways of living. However, deceived by shaytan's empty promise of an easier life, man runs away into difficulties and suffering. Man does not know at Whose door he is, and that is how he fails his Imtihan, test. Know that ease is with Ar-Rahman and can never be with shaytan.

Ask and You Are Given

Prophet (sas) says," ادبني ربي - My Lord has taught me Adab." How can one learn Adab? "اسْأَلْ بِهِ خَبِيرًا - ask the one who is well-informed." (25:59) If you want to have Adab, follow the ones who have it. "إنما بُعِثتُ لِأُتمم مكارِمَ الأخلاق - I was sent to perfect the best of manners". It is important to teach Man what makes him a Man. Then he will know what to ask for and Who to seek. " معرفةُ الله - Ma'rifatullah" is the door to Maqamu r-Rida and Maqamu l-Khilafah. For the one sacrificing himself on the Way of Allah the address is, O My servant, "إِسأل تُعطى - Ask And You Are Given".

Al Bayan

"Al Bayan" is not a drop but rather oceans that cannot be described by any figure of speech, endless oceans. "Al Bayan" is the essence of being human and the door to the Divine, and its key is Basmallah. "الرَّحْمَٰنُ عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ- The Most Merciful Taught the Qur'an". And, "عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ - taught him (Man) Bayan"(55:1-4) That's why Sohbat gives us happiness and takes away our heaviness. Yet man is blind to his secret and can only see the animal in himself. So people run and scream in the streets. Mawlana says if you insist on being an animal, then be a lion and do not remain a donkey!

Pharaoh's Teaching

Man is very weak yet very honorable. No one can dress man, Hazrat Insan, with an honor more than that granted to him by his Creator. This is an important point of Adab. Pharaoh warned Musa, " إِن تُرِيدُ إِلَّا أَن تَكُونَ جَبَّارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ - Your aim is nothing but to become a Jabbar in the world."(28:19) The Jabbar (the Almighty) can only be one, and Pharaoh claimed it for himself. In this world, however, all the Jabbar man can ever become is a despised tyrant and that indeed was Pharaoh. So heedless to his own reality, Pharaoh awakened Musa and us all, through the Holy Quran, to the indisputable Truth: Al Jabbar is One. Therefore, Adab Ya Hu!

Riding the Horse

'Irfan (Spiritual Recognition) lies in knowing your limit. Ma'rifah (True/Spiritual Knowledge) is beyond 'Ilim and its way is Adab. shaytan had 'Ilm but no Adab. It wanted to interfere with the Divine Will, and therefore was kicked out of the Divine Presence. The Prophet (sas) said, "Adabani Rabbi - My Lord gave me Adab." Without managing to ride on the wild donkey of your ego, you will never be fit for "Riding The Horse" of the Sultan.

The Way to Ma'rifah

Al-Jahlu 'aybun dawa'ahu-l 'Ilmu - Ignorance is a 'ayb/fault that can be cured only with knowledge. But nowadays man is immersed in 'Ayb. Man is following every way of ignorance and is even ignorant of his own identity. O Man, enter "The Way to Ma'rifah" and be from al-'Arifin. The one who does not seek to know is not Insan. The disciples asked for a table from Heavens forgetting that every table is the Lord's! O Shi'a and 'Alawi, how do you dare to kill anyone knowing the Creator? Do not be Shi'a or 'Alawi! The Sharia'h does not allow for 2 sultans! Adab Ya Hu!
